The police claimed to have apprehended a man on Friday who kidnapped his own nephew and demanded a ransom in a shocking turn of events. Three days ago, Hamad Ali, a resident of Meher Chowk, reported to the police that his 10-year-old nephew, Muzamil, had been abducted by unidentified suspects while playing outside their house. The kidnappers demanded a ransom for the boy’s release. The Balochni police promptly registered a case (FIR 495/363 PPC) against the unknown accused. In response, SP Jaranwala Abid Hussain Zafar constituted teams led by DSP Khurrianwala and SHO Balochni to investigate and rescue the kidnapped child. Investigations revealed a shocking twist that Hamad Ali, the complainant, had orchestrated the kidnapping himself. He sent his nephew to his in-laws, Seeman Bibi and Sulaiman, in Sialkot as part of the plan. Ali then visited a furniture shop in Shahkot and used a phone belonging to an individual named Manzoor to demand the ransom. The police detained Hamad Ali and initiated the interrogation process. SP Jaranwala Abid Hussain Zafar disclosed that Ali staged the kidnapping to blackmail and extort money. This was not an isolated incident; Ali had previously filed a similar false case at City Sangla police station. He is believed to be part of a blackmailer group that fabricates kidnappings to extort money from innocent citizens.
