Two monkeys rescued, poachers fined near Bahawalpur border area

In an operation against illegal wildlife activities, two male monkeys were rescued from the Bahawalpur border area and relocated to the Bahawalpur Zoo. Alongside this, four poachers were fined over Rs200,000 for hunting various birds, including partridges and parrots. Assistant Director of Wildlife for Sheikhupura Muhammad Arshad Naz revealed that one individual was charged under the Wildlife Act after posting images of illegal partridge hunting on social media. The case was settled after the accused paid a fine of Rs150,000. In a separate series of operations, Assistant Director Wildlife for Bahawalpur, Manzoor Hussain Najmi, and his team arrested three poachers in Haroonabad, Bahawalpur, and Manchanabad. Two of the poachers were fined Rs30,000 each, while legal action continues against the third. Additionally, the two male monkeys, which had wandered from their natural habitat, were rescued and transferred to the Bahawalpur Zoo.
