Police have registered a case after the burnt body of an unidentified young woman was found. According to police officials, they received information about the body lying near the railway track in the 8-BC area. A police team found the body of a woman, estimated to be between 20 and 25 years old, concealed in bushes. Her face and body were severely burnt, making identification impossible at the scene. The body was shifted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital for post-mortem examination and DNA testing. The police begun an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death. District Police Officer (DPO) Rana Abdul Wahab said that all aspects of the incident were being examined. He stated that efforts were under way to identify the victim. Meanwhile, a man allegedly severed a buffalo's legs with an axe after it strayed into his fodder field in Ismail Pur. The suspect, Manzoor Ahmed, reportedly assaulted the animal belonging to Bashir Ahmed, who earns his livelihood through livestock. Police said the buffalo had accidentally broken free and wandered into the suspect's crops. A case was registered on the complaint of the owner and the suspect taken into custody.
