Syrian Deputy Education Minister Dr Rami Waheed Al Dhulli has sought opportunities to send the research theses of scholars from his country to Pakistani experts for evaluation. Leading a Syrian delegation visiting the Punjab University, Dr Al Dhulli stressed the need of practical measures to promote educational relations between the two countries. He said educational experts of both countries should promote academic cooperation and benefit from each other’s research and experience. “We want to promote cooperation with the PU in the field of education and training, especially information technology. There should also be opportunities to send the thesis of Syrian students to Pakistani experts for their evaluation,” he said. He added that the Syrian people loved Pakistan and would not forget the help it has extended to Syria. The deputy minister expressed hope to work together and lauded the PU for its studious environment. PU Vice Chancellor Dr Khalid Mahmood informed the delegation that 150 students from Africa, Palestine, Iran and other countries were studying at the university. He vowed to extend full support for the promotion of relations with Syrian universities. “The PU has excellent experts in IT, agriculture, biology and other fields who are willing to help Syrian universities improve their higher education,” he added.
